ABOUT PECORA COFFEE
This is just a place where I jot down Coffee related information and the community it builds. I just like having a space for that. What I do is just blog, educate, and do some smaller coffee events. I really enjoy the art of coffee from the start of the plant to the end result in your cup. While the end goal would to be to open a space to serve, educate, and build community, I am just enjoying doing my own thing as of now.
So Why the Sheep?
While thinking of what my logo should be, I knew it had to have some connection to some story that I experienced long ago. For me that story involved a bar and how people flocked to it after hours to discuss about their day. That fictional bar is known as the “Stray Sheep.” Our vision has nothing to do with being stray, in fact it is more to do with a place to foster community.
The sheep pays a nod to that story and influences the name of Pecora, which is Italian for sheep. It also nods to my first espresso machine, which was of Italian origin.
Grant Callahan
I was born and raised on the west side of Indianapolis and is now living in eastern Tennessee. As a kid I did what any other mid-western kid would do, just live out in the small town and enjoyed his time with swimming, video gaming, and finding out different art forms to express himself.
I started drinking coffee after I saw a coffee siphon in a game, and proceeded to ask for one for Christmas as I didn't believe the coffee brewer worked as it should have. Teaching myself on the brewer, I ended up seeing how important community is when they gathered around food. I listened to more stories and adventures than I can count now, but I realized that I wanted to primarily make a place for that experience to happen with anyone or teach anyone how to build that place. Coffee was just the means to that end, so I work on perfecting every cup I make for anyone I entertain. Ask me about anything related to coffee and I will always be willing to chat about what I have read on about the world of coffee.
